First Europeans in the Caribbean

Our adventure begins at the picturesque Aguada Bay, the very spot where Christopher Columbus and European first arrived on our island on November 19, 1493.

Next, on board my luxury and air-conditioned van, we will travel to the historic site where the first settlers established their home, featuring one of the oldest Spanish archaeological sites in The Americas.

As we continue along the European legacy trail, we’ll visit the site of the fifth town, founded in 1692. There, inside the stunning San Francisco de Asís Church, you’ll marvel at the religious art and architecture that speak to the town's resilience in overcoming economic challenges and natural disasters. Our brief walking tour will show why this charming northwestern town is known as the boutique center of the West, and it includes time for souvenir shopping.

But wait, there’s more! Exploring such rich history will surely awaken your appetite. Before we conclude our tour, you'll indulge in one of Puerto Rico's favorite snacks at a beloved local eatery that has been delighting visitors for 30 years. Don’t miss out—pick a date on the calendar and book your "European Legacy in Aguada" tour online today for an experience you will always remember!

"A heritage tour is about discovering the past so we can understand and enjoy the present. Step beyond the San Juan city limits to reach the shore where Europeans and Christianity first arrived in Puerto Rico."
